In its research report “The Anatomy of Cybersecurity: A Dissection of 2023’s Attack Landscape” Armis analyses proprietary data and offers a snapshot into the global cybersecurity landscape.
In 2023, the number of attack attempts rose by 104% globally. The Utilities Industry saw an increase of more than 200%, while in Manufacturing this growth was 165%. As the attack surface continues to grow, and so will the threat of an attack. Outdated devices and older server operating systems are especially likely to experience attack attempts.
More than 65,000 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) were discovered in 2023, with wearable devices having the highest percentage (93%) of unpatched CVEs.
